Umami is found naturally in many foods (think tomatoes, mushrooms, cheeses, soy, and meat) and can be amplified with time and specific cooking techniques. Our culinary ninjas take high-quality, naturally umami-rich ingredients and transform them into memorable taste experiences that are loaded with umami flavor.
Today we’re going to dive into Parmesan cheese. When you think of a classic burger you automatically think cheese. When creating our first original Umami Burger Adam Fleischman knew that he wanted to use Parmesan cheese because it is naturally rich with umami flavor. But, Parmesan cheese doesn’t melt. Introducing the crisp Parmesan frico you see on our Original Umami Burger and the Sunnyside Burger. The cheese is 100% Parmesan Reggiano which has been aged from 18 months to two years.
